Mercedes-AMG has just purchased a 25% stake in MV Agusta, validating rumours that had been floating around since August. The German automaker and the Italian bike manufacturer have also announced a long-term partnership without getting into specifics.
“Mercedes-AMG will help MV Agusta further expand globally and accelerate our growth,” said MV Agusta president and CEO Giovanni Castiglioni in a Daimler press release. “The uniqueness of MV Agusta will further enhance Mercedes-AMG's leadership in the high-performance segment.”
