The most powerful E-Class ever

Attention, hardcore performance enthusiasts: The Mercedes E-Class sedan is about to deliver unprecedented levels of power in the form of the hot new 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 4MATIC+ and E63 S 4MATIC+.

The world premiere will take place at the 2016 Los Angeles International Auto Show next month.

Under the hood, both models exploit a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine with direct injection that generates 571 and 612 horsepower, respectively. The 9-speed dual-clutch AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission uses a wet start-off clutch for the first time, enabling more agile response times―like 0-100 km/h in in 3.5 or 3.4 seconds. And if you somehow care about efficiency, know that they come standard with a cylinder deactivation system.

Another highlight is the completely new AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. Torque distribution on the front and rear axles, which until now was strongly rear-biased, is now fully variable to ensure optimum traction right up to the physical limit, whatever the road conditions. For maximum fun, the Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ even includes a drift mode. Yeah.

As for styling, there’s a new radiator grille and coupe-style inset hood, giving the car a very muscular and sporty appearance. The track and fenders are wider, too. Cooling efficiency is maximized by the new front air intakes, while improved aerodynamics reduce lift and drag.

The list of go-fast components and upgrades is so extensive that we will stop this article right here. Surely the clip below will keep you satisfied.
