In order to build awareness among consumers and share its contribution to environmental protection, Michelin began projecting giant meters in four major cities around the world: Berlin, New York, Paris and Shanghai. These real-time meters show the fuel savings and CO2 emission reductions since 1992 when Michelin's "green" energy-saving tires were first introduced.

At 7:00 p.m. yesterday, the meters were unveiled on the façade of the Park Inn Hotel in Berlin, at Times Square in New York, in the Port de Suffren next to the Eiffel Tower in Paris and on the City Group Mansion tower in Shanghai.

Lightweight and offering a low-rolling resistance, the eco-friendly tires help achieve greater fuel efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

In 15 years, compared to all other types of tires, the 570 million Michelin energy-saving tires sold worldwide have reduced fuel consumption by an estimated 9 billion liters (43.9 liters per second) and CO2 emissions by 25 million metric tons.
