Mitsubishi's City Chase Series has once again taken home gold at the Canadian Event Industry Awards (CEIA). For the third year in a row, the Series has been named the country's best sporting event at the CEIA Star Awards Gala in Toronto. Other finalists included FIFA's U- 20 World Cup of Soccer, the Telus World Skins golf tournament and the Baycrest International ProAm Hockey Tournament.
The award-winning Canadian leg of the Series is a part of what's now called the world's largest urban adventure. Participants must take part in mental and physical challenges to gather 'chase points'- utilizing teamwork, resourcefulness and on-the-fly thinking on the way.
The Series' Canadian leg takes place in one of seven cities, with regional players competing for the chance to win a pair of Mitsubishi Lancers and the right to represent Canada at the world championships, which take place in November.
"We are extremely pleased to have won this award." said David Nash, Director of City Chase. "To have won it once is an honour, to have won it three times in a row is absolutely fantastic. And this year is especially meaningful because the quality of the other nominees was so high. To have competed and succeeded against the likes of the FIFA U-20 World Cup says a lot about the quality of our people and our sponsors. It's also a terrific way to kick off our new season which launches on May 10th in Vancouver."
