In a last ditch effort, Dani Pedrosa (Honda) took pole position for the MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix to be race tomorrow on the Sepang circuit.

The Spaniard took advantage of a drying track to set the fastest time in the last minute of the session.

ValentinoRossi (Yamaha) had set the previous fastest time but, in the end, he was unable to get back on track to do anything.

His teammate Jorge Lorenzo had another great day of running finishing third in front of Nicky Hayden (Honda) and Colin Edwards (Yamaha) who completed the Top 5.
