Testing driver Niccolo Canepa ended the second day of practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on top while the MotoGP drivers present continued to gain more knowledge on the new track that will be used in September by the MotoGP series.

American and AMA Superbike champion Ben Spies continued working on his Suzuki, completing a total of 124 laps while clocking the fastest time most of the day. He finally had to settle for second place.
