Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo, now lying 28 points behind is teammate Valentino Rossi, has given up any hope of running for the MotoGP championship. His crash at last week-end Italian Grand Prix at the Mugello has left him too far behind.

"We crashed at Mugello and that's very disappointing, but we can't change the past," Lorenzo told MotoGP.com. "Now we have to look to the future and lift our motivation and the results will return.

Lorenzo has had his share of troubles since his accident that broke both of his ankles. He admits that despite his weekend at Mugello, he has put the disappointment out of his mind quickly with the race at Barcelona just a week later.
