Dufault, a native of Sorel, Quebec will be behind the wheel of the car that Alexandre Tagliani drove last year in selected rounds of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series. Derek White now owns and prepares the race car, which will be sponsored by Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Quebec Dealers.

The young lady is an avid kart racer, having won races in the Rotax Max Junior Senior and DD2 categories in California. During the past years, Dufault has contested selected events of the Russell, Barber, North American Formula BMW and Star Mazda championships.

In addition to her career as a driver, Maryeve also uses her talents as a stuntwoman in Hollywood films and works as a precision driver for automotive and motorcycle companies.

However, Trois-Rivieres will mark her first time behind the wheel of a 600 horsepower, 3500-pound stock car.

In order to familiarize herself with the No. 10 Dodge Avenger prepared by Derek White Racing, Maryeve tested, under the supervision of racing coach Alex Tagliani, during the month of July on the ICAR road circuit in Mirabel.

After the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres race next weekend, Dufault will compete in the following race held in Montreal during the NAPA Auto Parts 200 event.

Maryeve signed a contract with the FAZZT Racing Team back in January to become part of their driver development program. The agreement included these two rounds in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The young lady is delighted to have the unique opportunity to race twice in front of her fans.
