Though the skies were threatening, the Michigan 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck race was held all the way on the 2-mile Michigan International Speedway. As usual, Kyle Busch (Tundra No 51) was the man to beat.

But while leading on lap 77, he made an unusual mistake and that allowed young Colin Braun (Ford No 6) to grab the lead and never let it go.

Braun won his first ever NASCAR race followed by Busch, rookie Brian Ickler (Tundra No 15), Matt Crafton (Chevy No 88) and Mike Skinner (Tundra No 5). Canadian JR Fitzpatrick (Chevy No 4) qualified 8th but ended up 21st, being involved in an accident.

Fellow Canadian Trevor Boys (Chevy No 65) finished 27th because of electrical problems as Quebec-born Floridian Mario Gosselin (Chevy No 12) had transmission problems that set him back to 31st place.

Braun's win was the 50th for his team owner Jack Roush in the NASCAR truck series. On the other hand, it was the first time a driver outside the top 11 starters won the race in that same series in Michigan.

Matt Crafton still leads the series followed by Hornaday and Skinner. Kyle Busch gained seven positions to wind up in 5th place.

The next NASCAR truck race will be held next Friday evening at the Milwaukee Mile racetrack.
