Jeff Gordon will continue to have his familiar DuPont sponsorship on his No. 24 but for only 14 races next year as part of a three-year renewal announced today.

"I can't remember what it was like to race without DuPont on board," said Gordon, 39, who with 82 Sprint Cup victories is sixth on NASCAR's all-time wins list.

"We've had such an incredible ride together, and I've learned so much about how DuPont applies science and innovation to make a positive difference in the world. It means a lot to me to keep it going for at least another three seasons.”

In the midst of the financial crisis it seemed hard to believe that the four-time champion, Jeff Gordon, was having a bit of difficulty finalizing sponsorship.

He’s made NASCAR’s Chase regularly and appears on television, but it wasn’t until today that all of his financing could be announced.

On Wednesday the team announced that the AARP (American Association of Retired People) Foundation’s Drive to End Hunger would be the primary sponsor in 22 races next year as part of the new three-year deal.
