After a fast start in 2009 Stewart-Haas Racing is still looking for a fully sponsored 2011.

In NASCAR’s weekly teleconference team co-owner and driver, Tony Stewart, admitted the necessities of finding sponsorship for the team which also fields a car for Ryan Newman in the Sprint Cup Series. At the present time he’s still looking to fully-fund his two cars for next year.

“I would say there's probably a zero percent chance we'll expand to a third team for next year. We're still trying to fill the void when Old Spice changes this year. We're talking to a lot of great people. There's a lot of good opportunities out there. It's just a matter of finding a package that works for somebody to fill our spot. There's still races we're trying to take care of on Ryan's car. The hard part about it is, it just takes funding. We could be up to a four-car team very quickly. But it takes the funding to get it done,” said Stewart a two-time Sprint Cup champ.

After the announcement that Kasey Kahne had been signed by Hendrick Motorsports for 2012 there had been rumors that Kahne would be farmed out to SHR for one year. Stewart’s teleconference statement has all but ended that speculation.

"Kasey Kahne has not said where he’d be racing after his contract with Richard Petty Motorsports ends this year."
