A report from Bloomberg hints at a luxurious new Jeep model that would go head-to-head with Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover SUVs. Does that mean we can expect pricing for this upscale Jeep to reach six figures? It's anyone's guess at this point.
As you probably know, SUV sales around the world are steadily increasing, and new models keep coming to market, so Jeep may be missing out on a great opportunity.
“When I see a Range Rover on the street, my blood boils, because we should be able to do a thing like that,” Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne said while attending the opening of an Alfa Romeo and Maserati dealership near Toronto last week. “And we will.”
Marchionne gave no further details about this luxury Jeep, but the vehicle may not be ready until 2018-2019. “We’re working on it now,” he simply added.
