Next Hyundai Elantra matures nicely

The Elantra is an important player in Hyundai’s portfolio. Making a mistake here could be costly. So far, Hyundai’s made very few mistakes. And they’re not about to make one here.

If the 2010 complete revamp was an out-of-the-park grand slam, its innovative at the time design has aged rapidly and may have been a little too bold for some. With this rendering that Hyundai has released, they’ve essentially given reason to this hypotheses.

The next Elantra looks far more refined and mature. It borrows heavily from the current Sonata especially where the front fascia is concerned. The smooth and muscular lines give credence to what will likely be a well appointed and depending on trim, luxurious compact car. As far as driving dynamics are concerned, we’ll have to wait and see if the strong shoulder line and wheel arches.

The car’s official debut is expected later this year. We’re going to guess that we’ll see the new Hyundai Elantra at the next Los Angeles Auto Show.
