Nissan and its premium division Infiniti are using a new aggressive pricing strategy in order to boost sales of their most fuel-thirsty models. Prices for 2009 SUVs and pickup trucks are down compared to 2008, which will likely drive more potential buyers into showrooms.

2008 Nissan Armada

The 2009 Nissan Armada LE will benefit from the biggest price reduction -- $10,000 -- for a new MSRP of $53,298. Meanwhile, all 2009 Nissan Titan pickups will be reduced by up to $1,500.

At Infiniti, three models are being made more affordable, the 2009 FX35/FX50 and 2009 QX56. The latter will now retail for $69,700 (either in 7- or 8-passenger trim), which represents a drop of $9,900 over 2008. The 2009 FX35 is down by $4,350 to $50,700, while the 2009 FX50 will be lowered by $4,050 for an MSRP of $58,900.
