A women in Ohio, Victoria Bascom, who left a taxi without paying the $100 fare, was sentenced to 30 days in jail by judge Michael A. Cicconetti. However, she was told she could avoid going behind bars on one condition.

"If you can't afford a cab what would you do? Walk. So I think it's appropriate that you walk the 30 miles, instead of jail," Cicconetti said.

According to The Mirror, the judge ordered her to pay back the $100 cab fare and complete three days of community service in addition to her walking punishment.

Obviously, Bascom chose this merciful sentence over going to jail.
