Lotus Racing’s Formula 1 driver Heikki Kovalainen and his girlfriend Catherine Hyde were shaken in a spectacular crash that happened during the Race of Champions event in Dusseldorf, Germany.
On his personal Twitter account, Kovalainen wrote that the throttle jammed open when he was approaching the first corner. The R8 went through the first series of barriers and when hit the concrete wall.

Kovalainen admitted he was knocked unconscious for about 30 seconds because he hit his head. Catherine Hyde was sore and said he had a painful back. Luckily, they were not injured.
