A new, limited-edition Porsche 911 R will make its global debut at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, Australia’s Motoring has learned.

Porsche 911 product chief August Achleitner confirmed the launch, although he didn’t specify how many units will be built. The website is predicting 600.

Slotted between the 911 Carrera GTS and 911 GT3, the Porsche 911 R will likely use a 3.8L flat-six engine rated at 475 horsepower. A 6-speed manual transmission will come standard.

As for pricing, sources like World Car Fans are expecting the car to cost around $160,000 USD ($227,000 CAD based on today’s exchange rate).
