The countries best rally drivers are ready for the next round of the 2008 Canadian Rally Championship, held in the Ste-Agathe/Petite Nation area.

The team of Mathieu L'Estage and co-driver Yannick Napert worked hard on the Mitsubishi. This should be profitable, as the car now seems more powerful and stable.

As for Mathieu's brother, Canadian rally veteran and reigning champion Antoine L'Estage, he is still in position of winning this year's title, but will definitely be seeking for a victory to do so.

If the driver, and his co-driver Nathalie Richard, win this week-end, they will equalise a record hold by Antoine's idol John Buffum with four consecutive victories at this Rally Défi.

Forty-two teams have been registered for this weekend's rally. Thursday will be a very important day for all of them as it will be a "spotting" day for all drivers. It will be especially important this year, as some new roads have been added.

"We'll have to make do our home works because there are new roads in the Ripon and Ste-Sixte region. Thursday will be an important day", said co-driver Yannick Napert.

The rally will start Friday night and will be continued early Saturday morning. The drivers will go through the Montpellier, Duhamel, Ripon and St-Sixte municipalities.

There will be two rallies left after this weekend, the Pacific Forest Rally in October and the classic Tall Pines Rally at the end of November.
