The Rally Azores, held February 23 to 25, will kick off the 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
Reigning champion Andreas Mikkelsen is the main favorite in the title chase.
The Norwegian driver will be back at the wheel of his Skoda UK Fabia S2000. His main rival will be Juho Hanninen (Skoda Motorsport) who won in Azores last year.
Some other Fabia S2000s are among the cars to watch this weekend such as Skoda Deutschland’s car Sepp Wiegand or Hermann Gassner Jr (Red Bull Team).
There are few Peugeot S2000s amongst the entry list, but Bryan Bouffier and Bruno Magalhaes’ cars could set solid performances in specific events in 2012.
