This is surprising news. Subaru of America on Wednesday announced a split with their leading driver, Travis Pastrana.
Pastrana collected some 150+ stage wins as well as 40 podiums and 22 event victories since the beginning of his collaboration with Subaru Rally Team USA in 2006.
He began his relationship with Subaru in 2004 doing supercross and freestyle motocross before moving to rally where he won four consecutive Rally America National Championship titles aboard his Subaru Impreza WRX STI from 2006 to 2009.
Pastrana is the youngest-ever U.S. Rally Champion in history. He is also a two-time gold medalist of the famous ESPN X Games Rally Car Racing with SRT USA.
During an interview given to speedfreaks.tv, Pastrana mentioned he was interested in moving up to NASCAR.
