Report: Volkswagen developing 10-speed transmission

From Autocar, we have reports of a new 10-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) currently being developed by Volkswagen. This unit would one-up those from Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler.

According to a company insider, that 10th gear alone improves fuel economy by up to 15%. It will be found in various VW models starting with the 2015 Passat.
