Research in Motion (RIM) revealed the results of its collaboration with Porsche Design today: the BlackBerry P’9981 smartphone.
A stainless steel front, black leather back, redesigned icons, and Porsche Design name (in classic Porsche font) set this special phone apart from its BlackBerry brethren.
The BlackBerry P’9981 isn’t just about style, though. As with any Porsche product worthy of the name, performance is part of the package. The phone’s platform combines a 1 GHz processor with BlackBerry 7 OS as well as unique Porsche fonts and redesigned icons, while the keypad is reminiscent of the Bold 9900.
The BlackBerry P'9981 Porsche Design phone will also feature unique PINs for BBM starting with “2AA.”
Other notable features include a 5.0-megapixel camera with HD recording capabilities, as well as 8GB of internal memory that can be boosted to 40GB via a microSD card.
