3:30 p.m. The last part of the 50th edition of the Rolex 24 mirrored the first. Riley-Ford dominated in the DP category, and Porsche did the same in GT.

AJ Allmendinger, Justin Wilson, Ozz Negri and John Pew won the overall race in their No. 60 Michael Shank Racing’s Riley-Ford Daytona Prototype. Only 5.198s behind sits the pole-sitting No. 8 Starworks Motorsport’s Ford-Riley DP driven around the clock by Ryan Dalziel, Lucas Luhr, Allan McNish, Alex Popow and Enzo Potolicchio.

The sister Michael Shank racing car, the No. 6 of Felipe Nasr, Michael McDowell, Jorge Goncalvez and Gustavo Yacaman completed an all Riley-Ford podium. Nasr crossed the line after 24 hours of racing in the same lap as the leaders.

Canadian Paul Tracy finishes 7th, in the Dallara-Ford he shared with Brian and Burt Frisselle, and Jim Lowe for Doran Racing.

The most notable non-finishers were the No. 10 SunTrust Racing squad, which retired their Corvette DP on engine problems in the first hour of the race, even though they started out as favourites. SunTrust racing's deception story was also Corvette's. All the Chevy-powered DPs were unexpectedly dominated by the Riley-Fords.

In GT, the domination scenario was the same, except for the names. It was Porsche who swept the podium. Andy Lally, Richard Lietz, John Potter and Rene Rast won their class in the No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche 911 GT3.

Wolf Henzler brought home the No. 67 GT3 of TRG, still on the leaders lap, followed by Marc Lieb’s pole-sitting No. 59 Brumos Racing car.

The No. 57 Camaro GT.R of Stevenson Motorsports and the No. 63 Ferrari 458 of Risi Competizione round out the top five, followed by the late-charging No. 70 SpeedSource Mazda RX-8 of Canadian IndyCar-star James Hinchcliffe, Sylvain Tremblay, Jonathan Bomarito and Marino Franchitti.

Though luck for Audi. The best finishing R8 Grand-Am was the No. 51 of APR Motorsport, driven by Dion von Moltke, Jim Norman, Emanuele Pirro, Ian Baas and Nelson Canache, which placed only 44th.
