Saab's 9-3 model range will add new standard content for 2009, while maintaining 2008 price levels, GM says.

The Scandinavian brand offers the 9-3 in a Sport Sedan, SportCombi (wagon) or Convertible configuration, each available in standard "2.0t" or performance upgraded "Aero" specifications. A five-speed automatic, six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission is available, depending on the model selected.

For 2009, Saab's innovative cross-wheel-drive (XWD) technology is added to the 2.0t Sedan and SportCombi models. XWD is a sophisticated and intelligent all wheel drive system that can optimize power delivery in inclement conditions, as well as enabling more nimble and balanced performance and handling. An electronic limited slip differential (ELSD) is also installed for optimized power delivery across the rear wheels.

In addition to the introduction of XWD, Saab is offering customers a more powerful V6 engine in Aero models, which generates 280 horsepower. Shoppers can expect new features like OnStar's Turn-by-Turn navigation and Bluetooth telephone integration, as well as revised wheels and roof-rails.

Additionally, the 9-3 model range comes with a 160,000 kilometre powertrain warranty and top-notch safety ratings- meaning owners can in the performance with confidence and peace of mind.
