Toyota's youthful sub-brand is called 'Scion", and its products have become popular amongst younger shoppers and those looking for an expressive, fun and value-minded vehicle.
The company presently offers two five-door hatchback models to American shoppers, as well as a racy coupe called the TC. Scion's vehicles are available for order with a slew of customizable options including interior upgrades, body parts, performance add-ons and entertainment features.
Tough rare in Canada, you may have seen a Scion XB driving around your area. The popular model has a few Canadian owners, and it's instantly recognizable by its almost totally box-shaped body.
At the New York International Auto Show, an all-new concept model called the Hako Coupe will be on display at Scion's stand to take boxy styling a step further. The sporty concept was developed by Tokyo Design Division, who studies global, youth-inspired trends.
Early teaser shots don't reveal much- though it's likely that the Hako Coupe will be a more production-feasible model based on the Fuse concept that was presented at the NYIAS a few years back. Scion has a history of making big news at the New York show, and rumor has it that their current TC coupe is scheduled to be replaced.
