An auction with various memorabilia from the 1970s cult movie Smokey and the Bandit, starring Burt Reynolds and Sally Field, took place last weekend.

The most coveted item was arguably the 1977 Pontiac Trans Am TA 6.6 that was used to promote the film (not even the actual one that appeared on screen) and later given to Reynolds as a gift. Despite a pre-auction estimate of $60,000-$80,000 USD, the car ended up selling for $450,000 USD.

Other Bandit-related items were auctioned including a film-used leather jacket that fetched $34,375 USD (initially estimated at $4,000-$6,000 USD) and a Trans Am go-kart that earned a winning bid of $13,750 USD (estimated at $600-$800 USD).
