Spyker surprised the auto industry by agreeing to sell its sports car division (Spyker Business) to CPP Global Holdings Limited for 32 million euros.

Their hope is to reduce the company's debt. Spyker, incidentally, is expected to operate under a new corporate name shortly.

Hans Hugenholtz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said that the transaction will allow Spyker to ''focus exclusively on Saab operations.''

If you're not familiar with CPP Global Holdings Limited, maybe the name of its owner – Vladimir Antonov – will ring a bell.

Initially, the US government did not approve the sale of Saab from GM to Spyker Cars NV given the participation of the Russian tycoon and his supposed connection with organized crime.
