The second generation of the mythical BMW M3 did much to boost the notoriety of the M performance division in North America. Part of that is because this E36 generation was more successful than the previous M3, nicknamed E30 in BMW aficionados' clubs. The first M3 was a race car disguised for the street, while the second M3 was designed for everyday use.
If you're lucky, you can still find one for less than $30,000... and enjoy that naturally-aspirated inline-6 engine.
