Toyota is not kidding around with safety; after the much-publicized episode of recalls due to sticking accelerator pedals earlier this year, they are doing everything in their power in order to change the negative perception that some customers might have concerning the safety of their vehicles. Therefore, they have announced the introduction of their Star Safety System for all their 2011 vehicles, in a press release today.

The Star Safety System will include Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Antilock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology (SST) as standard features on all 2011 models.

“Toyota continues to develop and incorporate technologies that advance the safety and performance of our vehicles, and the Star Safety System embodies this commitment,” said Stephen Beatty, Managing Director at Toyota Canada . “The Star Safety System is a clear commitment to our customers that no matter which Toyota they choose, safety comes standard in every vehicle.”

One of the first vehicles to feature the Star Safety System is the 2011 Toyota Corolla, which will go on sale in January.
