Also expanding is the number of Honda Civics on Canadian roads. The Civic has been Canada’s best selling car for 13 years. A new Civic is slated for 2012, and based on the Si Coupe concept vehicle on display, the new Civic should be quite a head-turner thanks to a rear-mounted air diffuser, centre exhaust ports and 19-inch wheels.

Also expected to turn heads is Honda’s Accord Coupe HFP, which is a limited run of 200 specially kitted Accord Coupes featuring black paint, body skirting, lowered suspension and 19-inch custom wheels.

Moving upscale and to Europe, Audi unveiled two new exhilarating rides. The Audi A7 is a new class of vehicle for the German builder that sports five doors and serious, supercharged V6 power. It’s also a technologically advanced unit featuring the latest version of Audi’s multimedia prowess.

Second to be exposed to the lights was the Audi TT RS Coupe, propelled by a five-cylinder high performance 2.5-litre turbocharged mill that emits 360 horsepower and 342 pound-feet of torque. The muscle will hustle the lightweight sled to 100 km/h in only 4.3 seconds.

In the more sedate category, and perhaps sensible, is Nissan’s fully electric 4-door LEAF. It’s the first mass-marketed electric car. It offers real world compatibility along with plenty of comfort and content. Nissan proudly announced the MSRP for the LEAF at $38,395 for the base SV model.

Nissan also took a few moments to discuss the antipathy of the LEAF, this being their new NV commercial-use high-roof truck line. Powered by either a V6 or V8 mill, this truck is sure to solve many commercially based transportation needs.

Returning again from Japan to Germany found us at the BMW paddock where two sheets were pulled. First to be unmasked was the exotic new 6-Series Cabriolet featuring a twin-turbocharged, 400-horsepower V8 powerplant and a 3D heads-up display.

The next Bavarian to greet us was the petite but formidable 1-Series M Coupé. Twin turbos aid the inline 6-cylinder mill in producing 335 horsepower, ensuring that the 1 M lives up to its high-performance label. On sale this spring, look for an MSRP of $53,600.
