Mitsubishi presents 2009 Galant and 2008 Lancer Evolution in Vancouver
With a bunch of new models introduced in the last year, Mitsubishi's showrooms have never shined so brightly. After the Outlander and the Lancer redesigns, and the arrival of the mighty Lancer Evolution, the Galant mid-size sedan gets a round of refreshments.
The 2009 model is available in three trim levels. It gets a revised grille and a new rear end, including a larger rear window. The cockpit also gets some improvements.
The $23,998 ES gets a 160-hp, 2.4-liter inline-4, while the $27,998 GT is equipped with a 230-hp, 3.8-liter V6. The hot model is the $32,998 Ralliart, which comes with a 258-hp version of the V6 engine. All Galants get automatic transmissions with manual modes; 4-speeds for the ES, 5-speeds for the GT and Ralliart. The latter is $2,000 less than the outgoing 2007 model.
The 2009 Galant is on sale now.
The Lancer Evolution has also arrived in dealerships and is offered in two trim levels. The $41,498 GSR gets a turbocharged and intercooled, 2.0-liter engine that develops 291 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, and mated to a 5-speed manual. The $47,498 MR gets a 6-speed, twin-clutch sequential transmission with paddle shifters. Both versions come with a computer-controlled all-wheel drive system.
