The iconic Volkswagen Golf GTI will celebrate its 40th anniversary at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K. from June 23-26. The event will culminate with the first Golf GTI – the Mk1 from 1976 – tackling the famous Goodwood hill.
The seventh-generation GTI still looks young and delivers as many thrills as ever. In Goodwood, the special-edition, two-seat Clubsport S model will also be on display offering 306 horsepower. Limited to just 400 examples, 150 of those will be sold in the U.K. Canadian availability has yet to be announced.
These cars will be joined by an Mk3 Golf GTI, allowing fans to see how the GTI has developed over the years.
