Volkswagen is now facing a €3.256 billion (approx. $4.8 billion CAD) lawsuit by 278 institutional investors from all over the world as reparation for the emissions scandal, Reuters reports.

The lawyers in charge said the goal is to determine whether Volkswagen neglected its duty to the capital markets regarding the timeframe between June 2008 and September 18th, 2015.

No one at Volkswagen has issued a comment despite the mounting lawsuits and penalties.

Meanwhile, authorities in the U.S. have given the German automaker a March 24th deadline to find a permanent, viable fix for the 600,000 cars that are affected in America.
