Volvo used the occasion of the Los Angeles Auto Show to introduce its new application known as Volvo Concierge Services. The service will initially be offered as part of a pilot program set up in San Francisco and serving 300 owners of Volvo XC90 and S90 models. Principal services will include coordinating maintenance and remote delivery of fuel, among others, and will be added on to the currently offered Volvo On Call application.
According to Volvo, the new service is the first expandable digital ecosystem that can connect car owners to services for their vehicle through the use of a smartphone. The application allows users to detect which concierge services are available in the vicinity, and order those they need via their mobile phone. An authorized Volvo service provider in the area is contacted, and fuel can then be delivered, valet service provided or maintenance performed as required.
