To encourage submissions, Pontiac promised to donate US$1 for each person submitting one or more color names (up to US$25,000 maximum) to My Friend's Place. Since 1988, the organization has been helping homeless youths to empower themselves and take responsibility for their lives. Today, hundreds visit the Los Angeles resource center every week.
