The FX45's 4.5-L V8 delivers an impressive 340-hp in the Q45, enhanced last year by the introduction of a modified final drive ratio for improved acceleration. The grille was also updated to fall into the new family form, while the headlight surrounds and rear end details were revised. Little has changed to the Infiniti flagship for '04, save a new Brushed Titanium exterior color, that replaces Royal Cabernet, and standard RearView Monitor for all trim levels. The Q continues to offer distinctive styling, luxurious surroundings, superb performance and leading edge technology at an aggressive price.

The only front-wheel drive model in the Infiniti lineup plays an important role for the Japanese automaker; the midsize breadwinner. Still offering strong 3.5-L V6 output at 255-hp, the I35 improves for 2004 with a standard sunroof, power rear sunshade, heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel and side sills (Luxury model). While it might sound tamer than its rear-wheel drive stablemates, keep in mind the I35 shares its underpinnings and drivetrain with the dynamic previous generation Nissan Maxima, so it's no slouch off the line or in the corners. Traction Control System (TCS) is standard, as is a 4-speed automatic with manual mode - the only transmission choice. Desert Platinum is the new exterior color.

The long running and extremely successful midsize QX4 will be phased out for 2004, replaced by a much larger full-size QX56 - the numeric half of the name standing for the vehicle's 5.6-L V8 engine. Pulled directly from the upcoming full-size Nissan Titan pickup truck and Nissan Pathfinder Armada full-size SUV, on which the Infiniti QX56 is based, the new DOHC Endurance V8 should impress with power and torque to spare. The new vehicle comes via Nissan's all-new USD$1.43 billion manufacturing plant in Canton, Mississippi, and is set to arrive in dealerships in early 2004.
