As you may or may not know, this past Auto Show season witnessed a trend where luxury and prestige makes would do their own thing as opposed to throwing down with the rest of the automakers on the show floor.

Called “The Gallery” in Detroit, these upscale Salons are becoming very popular and are obviously aimed at the well-to-do. And here I thought we were just barely climbing out of the worse recession since the Great Depression!

I just don't know where the money is. BMW is on fire, Mercedes can't keep customers at bay and Audi, well Audi can't keep up with the demand. WTF?!

I got Bentley's 2010 price listing a while back. I knew these were expensive cars but they are quite nearly common in Montreal and Toronto. When you consider that the very fashionable Continental GT has a base price of $201,100 (that's without options), you have to wonder if everybody's a drug dealer, bought gold when it was $100/ounce or are co-founders of Microsoft.

If these are bad times, then I can't wait for the good times. This may mean that we'll all be driving Audi A4s or BMW 3-Series' and own a half-dozen 3D TVs in the next year.

Personally, I'll be making room for a C63 AMG and a Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 4-103. Look it up. The Merc is a bargain in comparison.
