The FIA and the World Rally teams have confirmed today, Thursday that the Jordan Rally will be held as scheduled from April 14-16.
The fourth round of this year's World Rally Championship (WRC) had been under threat due to the political unrest in the Middle East region, particularly in Syria where human rights groups have estimated more than 60 protestors were killed.
The FIA considered canceling the event but were subsequently given assurances from the Jordan Rally organisers.
All the logistics for the WRC - Ford, Citroen, Michelin and North One Sport - will now go in through the Israeli port of Haifa before heading south-east to cross the border into Jordan.
Marie-Pierre Rossi, from the Citroen Racing media department, told French news agency AFP: "Olivier Quesnel [Citroen Racing director] has just informed us. We'll go by boat to Haifa [in Israel] with a television crew from North One."
Both Citroen and tire company Michelin had expressed doubts about traveling to Jordan due to concerns over the safety of their personnel.
