Reigning Formula 2 series’ champion Dean Stoneman has been sidelined due to an illness, which forced him withdraw from his Formula Renault 3.5 program this season.
The 19-year-old British driver suffers testicular cancer, and will treatment scheduled to begin immediately. The doctors said they are confident he will make a full recovery.
Stoneman, who drove the Williams F1 car in Abu Dhabi last Fall was expected to run the Formula Renault 3.5 season with team ISR, alongside Daniel Ricciardo. He intends to be back on track as soon as possible.
