Any car listed in the Super 2000-spec that compete in the 2011 World Touring Car Championship will have to adjust to the new base weights confirmed last Friday.
Not only will the car have a new 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, but the 2010 models will also be allowed on track next year.
The minimum weight of the 2011-spec car will be 1150kg for front-wheel drive (same for 2010 models) and 1170kg for rear-wheel drive (1155kg for 2010 models). Old model diesels will be 1170kg.
Moreover, six events have been confirmed alongside the European Production Series, at Zolder, Monza, Brno, Donington Park, Oschersleben and Valencia.
