F1: First photos of the Pirelli-shod Toyota F1 carVeteran F1 driver Nick Heidfeld started Tuesday the first tests of the new Pirelli tires destined to Formula 1.
Heidfeld has been released from his contract as reserve driver for Mercedes GP and kicked off proper development of the slick tires driving a Toyota TF109 from last year.
The two-day test is held on the circuit of Mugello in Italy, property of Ferrari. Tire manufacturer Pirelli has hired the Cologne-based Toyota Motorsport to run a 2009-specification Toyota F1 car to perform the initial tests. Here are the first photos of the test, provided by photo agency WRI2.
