From press release
The grid will race with medium and soft tires in China, the category's officiel tire supplier Pirelli announced. The Italian manufacturer made this choice based on the high speed corners and the smooth surface of the Shanghai International Circuit, which provides many overtaking opportunities. "Temperatures are normally lower than in Malaysia, but the Chinese weather is unpredictible," explans motorsport boss Paul Hembery.
"Last year's weather was stable throughout the week-end, but we had lots of ups and downs in the previous races. This factor should provide interesting strategies. "The load on the left front tire is huge. Traction is also very important in China, so the drivers will have to look after the rear tires as well." The gap between the medium and soft compounds being around 1.3 second, Pirelli expects to see a two-stop race in Shanghai. Recent Articles
