Two days before the FIA Formula 3 European Championship starts into its 2015 season with the first race meeting of the year, the 36 young drivers contested the second official pre-season test – at Silverstone, the 5.901-kilometre British GP circuit that also will be the venue of the season kick-off.
Just as it was the case at the first pre-season tests, at Valencia, all drivers entered into the FIA Formula 3 European Championship were involved in the one-day test at Silverstone.
Monaco’s Charles Leclerc drove his Dallara-Volkswagen to first place overall with a time of 1m50.574. Antonio Giovinazzi was second (1m51.041) and George Russell was third in 1m50.054. Canadian Lance Stroll of the Ferrari Driver Academy set the 10th fastest time in the No. 25 Prema Powerteam Dallara-Mercedes. Stroll’s best time was a 1m51.953. Stroll finished the day in front of other top drivers such as Brandon Maisano and Pietro Fittipaldi.
