Xavier Coupal will represent Team Canada at the 40th annual Formula Ford Festival in Great Britain later this fall.
The Quebec driver has been chosen as the winner of the inaugural Team Canada Scholarship. Coupal enjoys the prestigious honour of being named as the first Team Canada Scholarship winner as a result of a superb season in the very competitive Quebec-based Formula Tour 1600 Series. Coupal will now take on his biggest racing challenge to date, when he travels to the Brands Hatch Circuit in England on October 15-16, and goes head-to-head against many of Europe's premier Formula Ford racers as a Team Canada driver in the 40th annual Formula Ford Festival. Coupal was selected as the Team Canada Scholarship winner from a group of three finalists that included fellow Formula Tour 1600 Series racer Nathan Blok and Ontario Formula Ford Championship driver Michael Adams. All three finalists candidates did very well in the interview process, which made the final decision even more difficult for the selection committee. While not being selected, Adams and Blok don't come away empty handed from the Team Canada selection process, as they will both receive a test day in a pair of junior formula cars. The first half of the day will feature the racers in a pro F2000 car, before moving to a pro Star Mazda car for the second half of the day. Recent Articles
