Two-time NASCAR Canadian Tire Series champion Andrew Ranger will be quite busy in 2010, having inked a deal to compete in the NASCAR K&N American series with one of the top teams.
Amazingly, Ranger was basically left without a ride just one month ago after his long-time sponsors left him. The Canadian will drive for Waste Management Recycling NDS Motorsports, a team based in the state of Vermont. This team has been competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series for years. This professional stock car series features races held mainly in the Northeastern part of the United States.
Ranger and the other competitors will be racing on some pretty exciting tracks such as Martinsville, Dover, New Hampshire, Lime Rock and Infineon Raceway. "It's an incredible opportunity for Andrew," proudly declared Ranger's business manager, Alan Labrosse. "The team finished fifth in the standings last year and, for the first time in his career, Andrew will get paid to drive!" Ranger will start out the season on May 23 at the Iowa Speedway, a track owned by Rusty Wallace. In order to get acquainted with his new surroundings, the Roxton Pond driver will be testing on May 11th in Lime Rock and also on an oval track at a later, undetermined date. Furthermore, Ranger could be driving in the Canadian Tire series also for Jacombs Racing in four of the most important events of the season held at Autodrome St-Eustache, Toronto, Trois-Rivieres and Montreal. The Nationwide event of Montreal is still very much a possibility and an announcement could be made in the next weeks.
