According to reports published in the United States, Ekström appears set to make his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start in Saturday night's 400-lap, 300-mile race at Richmond International Raceway.
The Audi driver is expected to replace Reed Sorenson at Team Red Bull behind the wheel of the No. 83 Toyota Camry of team Red Bull. The Swede, a road racing specialist sponsored by Red Bull, had his first taste of a 3500-lbs stock-car at Infineon Raceway in June, finishing 21st. However, things will be vastly different when Ekström will pilot of the Toyota on the short 0,75-mile, 14-degree turns’ Richmond D-shape oval this weekend. |
