AJ Allmendinger, who took over from Patrick Carpentier in the No.10 car at the end of the 2008 Sprint Cup season, is set to land a full time drive with Gillett Everham Racing and take over driving duties from
Elliot Sadler.
The American is in the final stages of negotiations with GEM and an announcement could be made soon, according to
NASCAR.com.
Before riding the last 5 races of the season for GEM, Allmendinger had been driving for the Red Bull team but was replaced by former Formula One driver and Red Bull protégé Scott Speed.
