Volkswagen kicked off the 2015 WRC season with a perfect result.
Reigning world champion Sébastien Ogier managed his pace perfectly throughout the four days of the Rallye de Monte-Carlo, to finish almost a full minute ahead of teammate Jari-Matti Latvala.
"Winning Monte-Carlo means a lot for every driver, but especially for me," said Ogier, who grew up near the host town of Gap. "It’s the most important rally of the season. The weather makes it a huge challenge but the satisfaction is great when you make it.

"This event had the best atmosphere I have experienced on a rally," he added.
Latvala, who had been catching Ogier up Saturday, could not close the gap, and had to settle for second. Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen completed the sweep of the podium for VW, having won his battle with countryman Mads Ostberg (Citroën DS3).
