Although they were forced to retire from last weekend's Tall Pines Rally, four victories in the North American Rally Championship this season were enough for Quebecers Antoine L'Estage and Nathalie Richard to clinch the prestigious title in front of American Ken Block.
Clinched both in Canada and in United States, the four victories of the couple granted them with a 40% average winning races since they only participated in 10 events total in 2008. As for deceptions, the mechanical problems that cost them numerous victories are probably at the top of the list. Of six events in CRC, L'Estage and Richard were forced to retire in three. Drivers Patrick Richard and Alan Ockwell formed the duo that won the Tall Pines Rally last weekend in difficult conditions. Cold air and ice were the cause of various difficulties for the drivers.
