A Low Cost Classy Car

I remember how impressed I was in 1994 when Chrysler Group came to market with its 1995 Dodge Stratus/Plymouth Breeze/Chrysler Cirrus triplets. Compared to the K-car derived models they replaced these were very stylish sedans.

When released in 1995, the Cirrus was the most upscale of Chrysler Group's new triplets, which included the Dodge Stratus and Plymouth Breeze. (Photo: DaimlerChrysler)

Of these, the Chrysler was the most upscale, featuring the classiest exterior treatment highlighted by a distinct waterfall grille, and more convenience and all-out luxury features inside, especially in top-tier LXi trim.

While being fashionably elegant, the Cirrus was also affordably priced, making it a popular fleet and rental car. (Photo: DaimlerChrysler)

But while the look was fashionably elegant, the price was very attainable - more or less the same brand philosophy the winged brand espouses today. For this reason, and its popularity among business fleet managers and rental car companies alike, plenty of Cirrus' can be found on the market, in various degrees of repair.

Positioned on the smaller side of midsize, the Cirrus offered a decent level of interior volume. The seats are wide enough for all body types, while hip, shoulder, leg and headroom will only be a problem for XXXL occupants. The trunk follows the larger than life theme, measuring 445 L (15.7 cu ft) in volume.
